Burnout for my part. Feel free to email me so that I may bore you with the details! And thank you so much for the compliments.

Hi – I’m humptydumpty on CiF, and previously SweetCheatGone; you may recall me from the mswoman blog on Domestiv Violence (olly84london was playing up, and that disgustingly vile Brussels Lout). Just wanted to congratulate you on your posts, especially on the rape threads just lately – excllent. Although I’m a bloke I take the fem cause’s point of view very seriously on CiF. On law and order/prison etc, I’m a bleeding heart.

I actually live near Oxford – in the sticks between oxford and High Wycombe. I’m a freelance university lecturer (inc at Oxford) and aged 56, married with one grown-up daughter.

So keep up the good work and hallo!

    Best wishes – Andrew 🙂

  3. Ha, I just came here with exactly the same message as humptydumpty!

Just wanted to say hi and thank you for sticking with it on the CiF threads. You’re a star.

I’ve been reading your posts on CiF, and thought I’d have a look at your blog, as you mentioned it.
Love your posts. How *do* you stay so rational with those vile idiots?! It’s depressing – are there really so many misguided idiots out there?!
    So. Hello.

    Dear Girl From Mars

I’m making an educational programme for primary school children about immigration to Britain since 1945. I’m looking for a period photo of a sign saying “no dogs, no blacks, no Irish” to illustrate the kind of discrimination Black people faced in Britain in the 1950s and ’60s (and indeed beyond).

You have a photo image like this in an entry on your website dated “09 Jan 07” entitled “No Irish? No Blacks? No gays? No thanks.” I was wondering if you could tell me where this image came from, and if it is yours, whether you might give me permission to use it in this context. I’d be very grateful for any information you can provide. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best wishes

    Jonathan Alderson

  6. Hi Jonathan,

I think I took the photo from Flickr (hopefully under a Creative Commons licence, but I was new to blogging back in those days and it might not have been the case). You could try searching Flickr and see if the image is still there – sorry I can’t be more help.

You asked if you knew me. Probably not – but why don’t you send me an email in any case?

  8. Hi!

I found you on the Guardian’s comment section for a few Walking Dead articles earlier this year and really enjoyed reading what you’ve got to say about the show. I am looking for a writer to provide me with episode recaps for The Walking Dead for my entertainment website – http://www.telltalesonline.com.

I see that you’re a fan of the show and believe your contribution to Tell Tales would be of great benefit. Please let me know if you would be interested in writing weekly recaps once the show starts in October!

    Best Regards,

Angela – Chief Editor at Tell Tales Online
